Esquire's II is a straightforward, no-frills café tucked inside the Atlantic City train station, catering primarily to travelers and locals on the go. The vibe here reflects its location—a practical stop for quick, satisfying bites rather than a leisurely coffee break. It’s the type of place where efficiency meets comfort, offering familiar breakfast and lunch staples with enough character to make grabbing a meal or snack feel a little less rushed.

Best known for hearty sandwiches like the grilled cheese Reuben, Esquire's II serves up toasted, well-roasted bread and generous portions of meat, though some find the cheese a bit heavy-handed. The turkey sausage, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll is a standout for those in hurry, frequently ready in just a few minutes, which is key for catching trains or fitting into a busy schedule. Their hash browns get attention for being crisp and well-seasoned, adding a classic touch to the morning lineup.

The coffee here leans toward the standard side—not specialty, but reliable enough to accompany a quick bite. Staff here make an effort to accommodate requests, including brewing decaf when it’s not immediately available, demonstrating a care that helps the station feel a bit more welcoming. Prices are sensible given the prime, travel-centric location, offering a more affordable alternative to boardwalk or casino concessions.

Visitors can expect a friendly, familiar atmosphere where the baristas know regulars and even large groups by name—this has clearly made Esquire's II a go-to for events like the Atlantic City boat show, where speedy, personalized orders keep a busy crew fueled. It’s a practical stop for commuters, vacationers heading to the boardwalk, or anyone looking for a quick, hearty sandwich or simple coffee without the fuss.

For those passing through or starting their day in Atlantic City, Esquire's II provides a steady, approachable option that fits seamlessly into the station’s fast pace, making it easy to grab a solid meal and keep moving.

Got an amazing turkey sausage, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll for less than $6, and he made it in less than 5 min so I didn’t miss my train! It was delicious!

As station cafes go this has to be one of the best. The Reuben was pretty good! A little wet and a little too much cheese but the meat was excellent and the roasting of the bread was on point. Their coffee was broadly average, as expected. Hash browns were really well crisped and seasoned.

We have a crew of ten people that work the AC boat show each year. Esquire's is the best around. They are great at taking multiple personalized orders, and they have the food ready in no time. They are very personable call us by name. Highly recommend

The service is excellent! I wanted decaf coffee and they didn't have it but the woman working there said she would make some for me. The coffee is good, the toasted buttered muffin was excellent and the prices are good for being in Atlantic City and at the train station!

I love the people who work here and always stop on my way into and out from the train station. They are always very kind, helpful and polite! Today I have one of the best grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches I have ever had. It is a quick easy place to grab a snack or drink on the way to the boardwalk or the casino that is cheaper than waiting to buy something on the boardwalk or in a casino shop.

We arrived at the Atlantic city train terminal ahead of schedule and googled where to get some food - the internal cafe - Esquire’s II - came up and we thought why not give it a try?! Wow what a surprise! Apart from the delightful and helpful service from the lovely woman in charge, our bacon and egg, relish, cheese and hash brown Kaiser roll was amazingly good and prepared quickly and on-site. They make a great regular coffee like I remember from my youth and it’s all served up nicely, in a cheery little eating area kept very clean. Great value for money and clearly they know how to do what they do. The cheesy, hearty, filling taste of the roll and coffee a winner! Thank you

You really don't have to go far to find excellent food. Good service, fast, clean, and above all, well-made. I recommend it 100%.

I got a cheeseburger with everything on it, chips and a 24oz drink for $7 . Hands down best burger I've ever eaten anywhere. Such friendly women working hard and providing customer service and delicious food. I turned that $7 into a $16 burger because they deserved that tip especially with working during a tough time. Support small businesses!!! Especially when they are incredible!!!
